The year 2026 marks a historic milestone as Bengali Community Singapore (BCS) proudly celebrates its 20th Anniversary, coinciding with the grand celebration of Durga Puja 2026.

Founded on 5 May 2007 with only 12 founding members, BCS was established with a vision to preserve Bengali culture, strengthen community bonds, and contribute positively to Singapore’s multicultural society. Over the past two decades, BCS has grown into one of Singapore’s most vibrant Bangladeshi community organizations, comprising approximately 100 Life Members and thousands of supporters, volunteers, well-wishers, and community members.

BCS has evolved far beyond a cultural organization.

It has become a respected platform for community engagement, youth development, volunteerism, charity, social integration, and nation-building. Guided by the principles of unity, service, inclusiveness, and mutual respect, BCS has continuously worked to promote cultural heritage while fostering harmony among Singapore’s diverse communities.

Over the years, BCS has successfully organized numerous national-level cultural, religious, educational, sports, and community outreach programmes, attracting remarkable participation from members and supporters across Singapore. The overwhelming attendance at these events reflects the trust, unity, and strong community spirit that BCS has built throughout its journey.

BCS is also proud of its close collaboration with Government agencies, Grassroots Organizations, Community Clubs, educational institutions, and community partners. Through these partnerships, BCS has contributed to social cohesion, volunteerism, cultural understanding, and the shared vision of building a stronger and more inclusive Singapore.

Our community today comprises professionals, entrepreneurs, engineers, educators, healthcare workers, researchers, technologists, skilled workers, and business leaders who contribute significantly to Singapore’s economic growth and social development. As proud residents, workers, and citizens, we remain committed to supporting the nation’s progress and prosperity

Beyond Singapore, BCS has extended its humanitarian footprint through charitable, educational, and welfare initiatives supporting communities in Bangladesh and other parts of Asia. This spirit of compassion and service continues to define our organization.

A special source of pride is our younger generation. Through cultural activities, leadership opportunities, educational programmes, volunteerism, and community engagement, BCS has nurtured young leaders who carry forward both the rich values of Bengali heritage and the ideals of multicultural Singapore. Their achievements and contributions continue to strengthen the legacy established by our pioneers.

As we celebrate twenty years of achievements, we honour the vision of our founders, the dedication of our members, and the unwavering support of our sponsors, partners, volunteers, and well-wishers. From a humble beginning with 12 members to a thriving community organization today, BCS stands as a testament to what unity, commitment, and collective effort can achieve.

As we look ahead, we reaffirm our commitment to preserving our heritage, empowering future generations, serving the community, promoting social harmony, and contributing meaningfully to nation-building.
